Organization Communique #2
Submitted by: Nancy Simms
Dear League Sisters and Father Tran,
Report Forms
Enclosed are the diocesan annual report forms, please distribute the appropriate forms to your corresponding diocesan chairpersons. I pray that you have distributed the parish annual report forms and have encouraged all councils to submit their reports.
Due dates for annual reports are:
Parish report to Diocesan – December 15th
Diocesan report to Provincial – February 15th
Provincial report to National – March 15th
Development Funds
This is just a reminder that there are both Provincial and National Development Funds available.
Provincial Development Funds
- Development Fund #1 (Travel Fund) – An unspecified amount (interest earned) is available to assist delegates with travel expenses to the Provincial Convention.
- Development Fund #2 – $1,000 is available once in a two year term for a Diocesan President to attend the National Convention.
I have scanned these forms and enclosed them. If you are unable to print them out clearly just contact me and I will fax them to you, or your Diocesan President will have them in her BC/Yukon Policy & Procedure Manual. The deadline for both applications is March 31, 2009.
National Development Fund
National funds are available from National office to promote League leadership training and League development workshops. Councils may apply twice in a given year; for the period of January to June and from July to December. The guidelines and application form are in the National Policy & Procedure Manual, pages A3 20 – A3 25 and can be downloaded on the CWL website, www.cwl.ca.
Membership
Annual membership in the League is from January 1st to December 31st; therefore councils are encouraged to start collecting membership fees before January 1st and complete their per capita submission by February 28th. “For enlisting or renewing past memberships, personal contact is the most effective method. ASK THEM – one to one; personally inviting a woman to join the League has been proven to be effective time and time again.” (Handbook for Organization Chairpersons page 8 ). Also, remember to invite associate members into the League. An associate member is a non-Catholic woman 16 years of age or over, with voting privileges, but without eligibility for office by election or appointment.
TOGETHER LET’S ACHIEVE OUR GOAL OF 10,000 MEMBERS IN BC/YUKON!
Bellelle Guerin Award
This is just a reminder that this award is available through National office for members who do not qualify for life membership, yet demonstrate a love of the League and an availability and willingness to continue to serve. The criteria for this award can be found in the National Policy & Procedure Manual page 29 and the nomination form is on pages A3 8 – A3 9.
